Desiring to do some good for the world, he buys an old gunship and begins a business protecting cargo ships from pirates in the Malacca Strait.

His vessel is sunk, however, when his beautiful Indonesian cook, Liana, is forced by the Jemaah Islamiya terrorist organization to sabotage it in order to prevent Conor from interfering in their activities. After recovering from injuries during the incident, he travels to Palawan Island where he meets a rich young Filipina girl whose papa and best friend were killed when pirates attacked their yacht in the Sulu Sea. Marisa survived the assault and was transported to a hospital in Manila where she was stolen by the evil Mrs.

Supro--a rich lady who uses young girls as house servants and sex slaves for her husband. Marisa eventually escaped and returned to Palawan Island to take over her deceased papa’s company. Tormented by the events of the past, however, she yearns for revenge. One day she meets Conor--the only one who can help, and decides it is her only chance for gaining peace in her life. With the addition of her funds along with the aid of his friend, Ethan Tibbets--an Australian ship builder--Conor builds a new and more powerful ship, the Jenny Ling11. The pirates call it the Dragon Boat.

Ethan, desiring a change in his dreary life, also joins the ship as a member of the crew along with Marisa. While searching for the pirates who killed Marisas papa and best friend, Conor is hired by the U.S. Government for a temporary mission to capture or destroy a machine invented by two outcast Russian scientists. The machine possesses a new type of engine capable of propelling any vehicle, even spacecraft without fossil fuels or oxygen, and can be used as a terrifying weapon.

Along with the United States Navy, also desperate to capture or destroy the machine are the Russian Navy, mafia, and al Qaeda. During the ensuing battle over possession of the machine it is destroyed, but not until it manages to sink the Admiral Ushakov--a powerful Russian missile-cruiser.

In addition, captured in the battle was a giant Indonesian man named Balin. Balin was the new leader of the Abu Sayyaf Group—an al Qaeda affiliate in Mindanao of the Southern Philippines. He was also the main pirate responsible for the murder of Marisa’s papa and best friend. In the end, Conor and Marisa go to Manila to confront the Supros. Afterwards, they return to Palawan with Ethan, Liana, and two homeless young girls they rescued from captivity--one who is very young and deaf.

Marisa finally has peace in her life again and a new family. The heart-wrenching story guides the reader through many exotic locations such as the stormy seas of Southeast Asia, misty mountains of Thailand, as well as several areas in the Philippines, Indonesia, and Russia.
